Panchase Trek

The trekking to Panchase commences from the lakeside town of Pokhara traveling south west before looping into the main Annapurna trekking region. The area around Panchase is well known for its array of bird and wildlife. The first five days trekking are away from the more frequented trails providing an opportunity to experience the wealth of culture to be found in this area. We eventually arrive at Ghandruk the largest Gurung village in the region and the Center of the Annapurna Area Conservation Project. We rest up for a day to explore this ornate Gurung village which provides some serious views of the mountains Macchapucchare (Fishtail) Annapurna South and Himchuli before a two day trek back to Pokhara.We pass through many villages and you will have ample time to take photographs and interaction with the local people. Language is not a big problem as many of the local people can communicate in English. There are many different ethnic groups along the trail, but the predominant people in this area are the Gurungs. Together with the Magar and Chetry peoples, the Gurungs are famous as soldiers in the British Army, better known as Gurkhas.

Day 4:Pokhara / Bhumdi (1520m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 5:Bhumdi / Panchase Bhanjyang (2030m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 6:Panchase Bhanjyang/Panchase peak and trek Chitre (1400m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 7:Chitre / Matathanti (1200m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 8:Matathanti / Ghandrung (1940m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 9:Ghandruk at leisure. Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 10:Ghandrung / Pothana (1900m). Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 11:Pothana / Pokhara (820m). Includes: (A), (B), (L).

Day 12:Drive back to Kathmandu by bus. Includes: (A), (B).

Day 13:Kathmandu at leisure. Includes: (A), (B).

Day 14:Transfer Airport / Departure for onward destination. Includes: (B).
